Anyone heard of Maynard James Keenan

Some of my friends have heard of his bands but I'm the only one who listens to them

I like tool; a perfect circle as well as the bizarre puscifier
Though tool is my fav - but their all different
I also love his work with Tori Amos, Alice in chains, Deftones and others

Though I don't agree with him on everything, he still is a great inspiration for me

Some tool music I would even describe as spiritually uplifting and motivating, and he has a song for whatever mood your in
I also own all his tool albums (undertow was meant to come in the post today!) except opiate (though it's not a real album) which to tell the truth I don't particularly like and don't plan on buying

Does anyone else on this forum also enjoy his work?

All I can say is... I <3 TOOL I had to buy three Laterlus albums, because I scratched them up bad, and I didn't have a computer back then. Maynard is so awesome His voice is one of a kind and his style is so fluent. No one can match him. Definitely a great artist indeed

I love Maynard. Although sometimes I have to be in the mood for his bands, I still think he's an incredible musician and creative force in general. My first Tool album was Undertow, and my favourite Tool song is probably either Sober, or Vicarious is really good off the newer one!

I'm glad other people recognize it, but actually most people I know like him, or know of him. But maybe that's just who I hang out with.

OH! Also I have the Thirteenth Step album by APC, and I think it's pretty good. I actually think his songwriting is sort of better in APC.

I've heard that he is very popular in Canada, I wish I had friends who appreciated his music too - but they all listen to such different types of music - none of us feel the same to any particularly band though there are many which we all enjoy.
Vicarious used to be my favourite tool song - I think I just listened to it too much lol
I love the case for 10,000 days though, and I probably listen to it more than the others.
I also love apc's Thirteenth step; my fav songs from it are Pet, and outsider as well as blue (I also love the remixes of these songs). Weak and powerless is also good though and has a good remix too, the others are also good - I just don't listen to them that much.

Maynard is great. Maynard is even great when he's scaring away fans with paintball guns, because he hates fans. Problem is his fans love the paintball guns. The only way he could get rid of the fans is to succumb to normality, but then all those fans would be pissed and he'd have to deal with the other kind of screaming obsessed fans, which are just worse little ignorant...

Ah anyway, Maynard is pretty damn awesome in all his bands. I've always been a fan of Tool and am just recently getting into A Perfect Circle a lot. The other bands he's been in I also usually enjoy.

Tool has always just put me in this different mood. It's both a good, and bad mood. But I like it none the less.
