Quantum of Solace - March 25th 2009, 02:11 PM

Anyone else pick this up on DVD? I grabbed the single disc edition yesterday after school, and though it's not anywhere near the top of my list of favorite Bond movies and not quite as good as Casino Royale, I did enjoy it quite a bit. Though as far as the DVD itself goes, I was pretty disappointed with the number of special features (only the music video for the opening, "Another Way to Die", and the theatrical and teaser trailers), and from what I've heard, the two-disc doesn't have much more (apparently just some added behind the scenes footage), which is even more disappointing.

Thoughts on the movie or the DVD release?

I haven't seen it yet but thought about renting it. I'd love to watch it, but don't want to waste my movie! Anyone think it's a good rent?

Definitely a good rent, but you really should see Casino Royale first, because the two are directly linked to each other, and you won't really understand parts of Quantum without Casino Royale first. But at least Casino Royale is a really good one as well

I loved both movies. I own Casino Royale but I don't think I am going to buy Quantum of Solace because I just didn't like it as much. I do love me some Bond though. Does anyone know when the next movie is coming out? I can't wait!!

I'm probably going to pick it up even though it wasn't that great. (compared to casino royale anyways)

Daniel Craig plays a great bond.

Ahhh, well then you really should see it. Even if you don't end up liking it, it'll at least give some closure on some characters and plot threads from Casino Royale.

Yeah, Quantum of Solace definitely wasn't as good as Casino Royale, but it's certainly still worth picking up for an occasional viewing.

I can definitely agree on Craig being a good Bond. Certainly not enough to shove Connery from the top of my list, but he's up near the top with Connery and Dalton.

And no clue on when we'll be seeing Bond #23, but I definitely hope we at least see Q and Moneypenny in it. Definitely curious if they'll go for another new story, or try to redo an older movie. If it could be done correctly, I'd love to see a more modern day reimagining of From Russia With Love, though not sure if it could be done with Craig since his movies, like Dalton's two movies, have so far been done with a darker, more serious tone.
