Nintendo Wii - July 28th 2010, 05:49 PM

Do you like the console?
Do you recommend it?

As soon as I save up, I'm planning on buying a Wii and a Wii Fit.
Let me know what you think of it.

Two is better than one.

It... lacks replay value. That's my main complaint.

It's great for playing with friends or socially. The multiplayer games are rather fun. Since it's rather easy to set up a wii to play online you can play with friends via wifi too. I rarely find myself using if for single player games though, there are usually better single player games on other consoles. Things like wii fit are great though.

It's good for multiple players. The only games I really plan anymore though are Super Mario Bros (sooo fun with 2 + players) and Just Dance - get's kinda old but fun with friends. I've been wanting the wii fit too, just haven't got it yet. The console is ok, others are better. They sucker you in though, cuz you have to buy everything seperate.

Re: Nintendo Wii - July 28th 2010, 06:17 PM

I like my wii. Good games for it are.

Mario Kart Wii
Super Mario Bros Wii
Formula 1
Lego Batman
Ghostbusters
Lego Harry Potter & Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince (if you like Harry Potter the wii is great for these as you have the wii remote as a wand)
Guitar Hero/ Rock Band
House of the Dead 2&3 and House of the Dead Overkill (if you like mutant shooting games)

A lot of the party games are great if you have people to play wiht. In my house there is only me but the games above are good to play on single player too.

I have the Wii Fit and I am thinking of trading it in. A few of the things are fun like Hula Hoop and the Step exercise. It is useless for exercise, if you did it for about half an hour everyday at the same time of day then it might do something but never much. I never use it any more I prefer to go swimming and exercise properly. I also enjoy swimming for so I look forward to doing that, the Wii Fit bores me and feels like a chore rather than a game.

I love my Wii! Setup was super easy. I've never had problems with it. If you have Netflix, watching movies is a lot of fun because there are choices. The games are fun but can get costly quickly. Don't forget to total in buying Wii remotes because I think most of them only come with one and you really need more than one if you are going to be playing with serveral people.

I have a wii, and to be honest it is a waste of money. It has been played a few times by me, and a handful more by my boyfriend and thats to play gamecube games on it... The wii games are great for little kids, but you'll either lack motivation quickly or get bored and chances are it will be the latter first.

If you want to get fit, go to a gym... if you want to play games... get a decent console.

Kinda off topic - but how do you play gamecube games on it? I know you can, but I can't figure how?

you put a gamecube game in the disk drive, lift the flap off the top and plug in gamecube controllers... theres also a slot for a gamecube memory card

Aw man. I got lots of gamecube games but gave away the gamecube and the controllers.

Thanks.

I like it but like other people have said you use it more when you have friends over or with other people not really alone like other game consoles.

It can be fun when you're playing with friends and such, but when I'm playing on my own I find I usually end up on the xbox

The Wii fit seems a bit overrated to me. If you want to get fit, I don't think it's going to be particularly helpful.

It's a great party console. Also usually girls like it.

It has good stuff like Zelda and such, not really my type of gaming

I like Xbox for the shooters

Re: Nintendo Wii - July 29th 2010, 04:44 PM

I have a Wii, and I would say it's okay.

If you're planning on buying a Wii Fit with the intent of doing exercises, I would recommend going to a gym or other means of exercise.

As many people have already stated, it's the console you would get if you prefer simple games and you plan to play with many people. If you're looking to play it by yourself, it will be hard to find many games with replay value.

I'm really lazy but I enjoy all the dancing and stuff on it.

Best game = Just Dance
