I don't know about in Canada, but I have unlimited texting and as long as text people with the same cell carrier as me (ie- verizon, sprint, etc.) then I don't get charged more.

I think it depends. I have Verizon and I have unlimited texting and I've texted people all over the world and not had any extra charges....

I swear never to be silent whenever wherever human beings are enduring suffering and humiliation. We must take sides. Neutrality helps the oppressor, never the victim. Silence encourages the tormentor, never the tormented. Sometimes we must interfere. When human lives are endangered, when human dignity is in jeopardy, national borders and sensitivities become irrelevant. Wherever men and women are persecuted because of their race, religion, or political views, that place must at that moment become the center of the universe.

I can assure you that you can text nation-wide and not get charged extra.
Internationally is a different story and you would have to check with your provider.

It just depends. I have AT&T's unlimited package, and it doesn't cost me a dime to text any phone or email address in the world so long as I'm in the US and it's territories.

to my knowledge you don't get charged extra if the text is out of the country. you may want to check with your provider first though.
