Windows (XP/Vista) OR Mac (Os x/Hackintosh) - April 29th 2009, 06:59 PM

Okay, well, which do you prefer?

DONT ARGUE, Just post which you prefer and reasons, Just for general ideas on which you prefer

Personally, since i moved from XP to OSx (White 13.3' Macbook) i have found all my work to be more productive and i've noticed less flaws

What about you?

Linux!

Cheating I know.

But I never got my head around the Mac UI and Windows is just horrible.

Linux pros:
- Customisable
- Ultimate value for money
- Ultimate Hackability

Linux cons:
- So many distros! (Warning: May Cause Distrohopping!)
- Not for n00bs...
- Some forums still have people who wish GUIs had never been invented...

Um, I prefer windows I guess but only because I love Windows Live and most programmes work with windows but for Macs sometimes you have to download different files and stuff. Also, I prefer microsoft office compared to the Mac equivalent (can't remember what the programmes called)

I can't use Macs I don't understand them much.
I'm gonna have to say Windows Vista. LOVE IT!

I *heart* my hackintosh (:
Running Vista, Ubuntu, Xp and Leopard on one machine... Leopard is by a long way the most stable and just cleanest system (Y)

I'm a Mac fan. But I have a Sony Vaio with Vista.

Windows seems to be more user friendly, but it has so many back doors that if you don't have every single kind of virus protection, you can be attacked and your computer runs so slowly.

Macs are less intuitive, but seem to be more reliable and have on average less problems.

I've never had issues with any of my Windows machines, so I've never felt the need to try anything else. It's definitely the easiest to use, and the most accessable when buying general software, though I can totally understand why people who are more into computers than I am might prefer Mac or Linux. Windows XP for me.

The atoms that make up you and me were born in the hearts of suns many times greater than ours, and in time our atoms will once again reside amongst the stars. Life is but an idle dalliance of the cosmos, frail, and soon forgotten. We have been set adrift in an ocean whose tides we are only beginning to comprehend and with that maturity has come the realization that we are, at least for now, alone. In that loneliness, it falls to us to shine as brightly as the stars from which we came.

I use both vista and xp, like both for different reasons, strongly dislike macs, just dont like the one button system and for a web designer i need something that can install a lot of stuff macs cannot

For complete Technophobes, I'd find linu easier to teach them on. Easier to install programs, more focus on toolbar buttons than menus, and it's HELL trying to teach them when to click and when to double click!

I get what you mean, lol, my Mum's a technophobe.
But then again, you want to train them with what's the most common interface they'll find out there, and Windows is the most common one they'll be using...

*hugs macbook*

Mac os x, definitely. Though i'm shallow when it comes to computers, so only because its prettyfull I guess everything is sleeker and more simple with a mac, stuff with windows seems a bit over-complicated to me. But yeah I'm a sucker for stuff in helectiva font with appropriately placed capitals lol

XP, Vista is a load of rubbish. I've never really got into Mac, but from using it at my girlfriends house OSx seems to be good. But I prefer XP over-all.

See, I think Vista has potential, but Microsoft fucked it up basically...So now I'm hoping that their next operating system sorts those mistakes..
