Is there a way to set a default font type and size for each post I read on the site? I know users can customize (like I did, thought it was for that other reason ) their font type, size, and color, but some users set their font so small that I have to literally place the screen just a few centimeters away from my eyes.

There's no way to do that that I can find, but you could increase the Zoom on the page which will make the text bigger.

As Michael said, I don't think there is a way that you can set a default font size. However, you could message Robin or Rob make sure that there defiantly isn't a way of doing it.

No such way, unfortunately. The site displays the size and colour of the letters how users set it for themselves, so as people above me said, best bet is to try and widen the text yourself (on Windows, ctrl + mouse scroll). Can't think of anything else.
