My path to Indie development! -
September 10th 2015, 06:11 PM
WOOT. I think... I've just made my first step in game development! I've loved games since my fourth, and still do. I've recently been developing and spriting some little games together, like a replica of Pong, a game I called Boats, in which you have to maneuver across a parkour of islands in, well, a boat. Another title I've made is Parkour Knight, which plays much like Kirby. I'm planning my first big project since yesterday, creating character concepts, gameplay ideas and area concepts. The graphics'll be 16 bit, so I'll have to sprite and design all of the graphics with pixels, which is easier then modelling EVERY SINGLE OBJECT in the game in 3D. I haven't even mentioned rendering them! It'll play like a Real Time turn based RPG. I know this sounds weird, but it'll be kind alike Final Fantasy. Every enemy and ally has a "Stamina" stat, which determines how long it takes to attack. The overworld'll be like Metal Gear, enemies'll roam around, and if they touch you, you will battle them. Maybe I'll add a stealth bit as a homeage to Metal Gear. For the rest, the battle stage'll have some effects, like if there's a trap door which opens and closes right by the enemy, you'll have to time your attacks not to fall in there. I'm super excited about it, and know that I'll have tons of fun while creating it!
