Stopping automatic videos - October 4th 2015, 06:10 AM

Anyone know how to stop videos/ads that automatically start when you open a page? Like say I wanna read something, and a video pops up. I find them incredibly annoying.

There is no way unless you disable Adobe Flash.

Are you referring to ads which come up in videos or ads which just pop up on screen when visiting a website? you could try an ad blocker I use to use one as I found pop ups to become very annoying. Make sure you find a safe one and not just a dog download I have not used one for a few years and can't provide you with any download links.

take care

If you mean ads and pop-ups in general, you can use Adblock plus. It's completely free and I use it too. There's no danger in using this, at all.
I don't know what browser you use so I'll just post the links to the add-ons:

Firefox Add-on: https://adblockplus.org/en/firefox
Google Chrome: https://adblockplus.org/en/chrome
Opera: https://adblockplus.org/en/opera
IE (Internet Explorer): https://adblockplus.org/en/internet-explorer
Safari: https://adblockplus.org/en/safari
Yandex Browser: https://adblockplus.org/en/yandex-browser

But the website automatically detects the browser, I think. It did for me, atleast.
