PokéVision: Cheating or Strategy? -
July 24th 2016, 06:52 PM
I thought this deserved its own thread. For Pokémon Go there is an app and website called PokéVision. It scans the area nearby for pokémon and tells you exactly where they are and what they are. The map resets every 30 seconds. So, what's your opinion on this? Is it cheating or is it just a strategy?
Personally, I see this as cheating. It gets rid of the need to walk as much. It tells you where to catch the pokémon you haven't caught yet, without you actually doing the work to catch them.

I personally consider this cheating and it does take the fun away from it. I also think it is seen as cheating in the game's eyes as well and have heard that it can get you banned from the game permanently. That and the GPS spoofing that has been going on with some Android users.
It just makes it less fun for everyone.

Right now a lot of people are using it to deal with the "three step glitch" which I do kind of understand. I think where it's really going to become a problem is when they release trading and player vs player. Once there's true competition between players, this will give a very unfair advantage.
