Question Where is the problem? - May 22nd 2009, 09:51 PM

So I'm on BT HomeHub for my internet.
Its really annoyingly unreliable, like it will connect for 5 minutes disconnect for 10 then maybe if I'm lucky come back for 15 minutes at the most.
I don't think my laptop is the problem its not even a year old.
And the adaptor says its all fine.
But when I'm doing the network check thing (yeah my knowledge isn't that great)
It says that its "hidden" but there's no proper access point because its a Hub.
So does anyone where the problem could be?
I'd be very grateful if someone could help its been like this for months its just got a lot worse recently.

I'm not sure what you mean by it not being a proper access point. Can you give the full error message and tell me where exactly this message was?
It might just be your router, the BTHomeHub that's acting up. Are other computers on your network working fine?

The one that is actually connected to it through the wires, is working fine.
But I'm the only one with a working laptop, so I don't know. But when my sisters was working she had a similar thing
and by no access point I mean there's no way on the main computer to make it hidden.
The error message says that it marked as hidden or there's no signal but there's always 5 bars for the signal and it says excellent connection.

Have you tried having a look around in your router's settings? There might be something you can do in there.
