Investing in new technology - January 7th 2009, 06:23 AM

Lets say I've found a company that have produced a new technology, one that I think would be quite big in the future and I want to invest in that company.

How would I go about doing that?

Look for it on the stock market and buy lots of shares is what I imagine... that's providing that it is a public company, and not privately owned?
If it seems that good, I'd even try to get into the company via working for it as well. If that is possible, of course.

I cant seem to find a specific company for it .. I wanted to invest in 'Witricity' technology (Wireless Electricity). In the future, that technology could be used to power wireless keyboards and mice, and do away with the need for batteries

In that case I'd look at electricity companies, or companies who have recently produced new technologies surrounding that field. Try searching for 'witricity'' research and see if any company names are mentioned. Or look for products that are going down a similar route, because chances are the company that produced them are also planning to produce the types of products that you're thinking of.

If possible, call the companies and make enquiries as to their plans for future products.
