Making youtube videos? - December 14th 2009, 08:21 PM

Ok, you got me, so I'm a bit clueless on things like this

Anyway, I wanted to make a video for youtube and I have an audio file but I cant work out how to make a video to go with it that I can put it on... if that makes any sense? If anyone could help I would be greatful. It's something me and a friend are doing; she is being brave and singing and I am doing the video.. except I don't know how to make a vid lol

You want to use a program like Window's Movie Maker, you can download it for free from the Windows Live website: here.

It's fairly simple to do, you can add the audio separately by selecting the file once you click "Add Music". The video itself can be made up of multiple photos that you need to import, or if you already have a recording you can add that in fairly easily as well. I suggest downloading the Windows Live Movie Maker as it's the simplest program to use. You will want to make sure any video is in the right format probably an M-PEG, MP4 or AVI file.

If you're using a Mac you will want to download Apple iMovie, which works like a storyboard, you have to drag and drop files. For a how-to visit the Apple iMovie page and watch the video, you can also download the program here. Just make sure your PC meets the requirements, otherwise just google "Free Movie Making Software Mac", make sure what you download is free and trusted.

Once you have finished the video, save the file as an MPEG-2 or MPEG-4, which are the best type of files for youtube.
