You mean you took an unlocked phone, opened it up and put a SIM card in?

Well that's good you figured it out. For the dots I don't think I have them, but my case is on and might block them. I have a 3G S.

I can't explain how long it took me to figure out how to put the sim in! It should come with INSTRUCTIONS! Finally youtubed it, spent ages looking for the key, eventually used an earing and just found the key GAHH

And I put my screen protector thing on and it has air bubbles

The iPhone doesn't work like a lot of other phones, you can transfer your contacts from your computer to your iPhone, but not from your SIM card.
Also, the 3 dots are sensors, they're what lets your phone know when you're holding it up to your ear to talk while using it. You'll notice when talking on the phone, when it's held up to your head the screen turns off, but when you bring it away from your head (say to push a number or turn on speaker phone) it will turn back on.

I figured it out You can defintley transfer contacts from your SIM card to your iPhone. just have to go into settings --> mail settings --> "Import contacts from SIM"

Good to know the dots are normal

Yay iPhone!
