What computer games should i buy? (2008-2010) - February 16th 2010, 03:55 PM

I just bought a new laptop for gaming and general purpose.

I had a Celeron-M 1.4 ghz which sucks. BUT I JUST BOUGHT A NEW LAPPY

My new one have a P8700 and a HD4650 1GB dedicated Gfx card

What are good offline games?

And 2 great online games that are not too similar.

I was thinking

Left for dead 2 and Battlefield Bad Company 2 (coming out in a month or so) instead of Call of duty MW 2

I have to say that left for dead 2 is an amazing game. Although I do tend to scream more than the regular player, I still loved it.
Have you played the first one?

A classic would be Counterstrike Source. Just look on Steam. Most valve ones are good..

MW2 is also good, as is the first. Besides that.. look on websites such as metacritic and vgchartz for new releases.

Bad Company 2 beta for PC is loads of fun, even though the beta itself wasn't put together very well.

I'd recommend it.

Welll, it depends really on your taste in games.
I can advise you on the good action/adventures and RPGs out there.
There's Dragon Age: Origins, an amazing game. There's also Devil May Cry 4, which is an awesome classic, awesome in it's classicness, as well as it's awesomnisity.
There's the Assassin's Creed series also, as well as Bioshock 1 and 2, both immensely fun and atmospheric games.
Others you might like are Dark Messiah, Might and Magic, which is punishingly difficult, but oh-so-fun.
Left 4 Dead 2 is just plain fun though
And lol, Lou, you remind me of a friend of mine. I still don't think my eardrum has recovered from that incident >.>

Left 4 Dead 2! Great game, and so is L4D1. The game itself isn't very long, but it has looads of replayability. The same thing rarely happens twice, especially if you play with 3 different people. Plus, it's a great time killer. I have about 150 hours clocked in, and I still play it regularly.

The Orange Box is a good deal too. You get Half-Life 2, Episode 1, Episode 2, Team Fortress 2, and Portal. All AWESOME games. Anything from Valve is really a winner.

Bioshock 1 and 2 are pretty good too. Very unique atmosphere and art style.

I'm hearing good things about Mass Effect 2. Mass Effect 1 was pretty good as well.

I'm having a hard time getting into Dragon Age, but if you really like RPGs then you should try it out.

When Assassin's Creed 2 comes out for pc you should get it, it's miles ahaead of the first one in entertainment value. Fallout 3 is great too, lot's of things to do and the modding nexus is enourmous.

Similar to fallout.. Elder Scrolls IV is quite good.

I agree with all of these. I love Portal and TF2. I just got a new laptop so I am thinking of getting The Orange Box. Right now I can only play when at my boyfriends.
