ipod help: I don't know if this is possible, but... - March 3rd 2010, 08:52 PM

You know when you "shuffle songs" (which is what I almost always do) is there a way to stop audiobooks from coming up? >.> because I'm listening to music and then a chapter from Harry Potter starts playing, it's lame :/ I know I can easily skip it but it's annoying.

Is the audiobooks saved in the same file as you're music? Thats the only way I'd see it getting mixed in, since on your ipod... music > all > shuffle shouldn't bring any of them up.

Your audiobooks shouldn't be playing when you shuffle music as they're no supposed to be saved in the same place
I'm guessing they're not real audiobooks and just .mp3s of audiobooks right?
You could always just make a playlist that has all your music and excludes your audiobooks and shuffle that instead of all your music. That would appear to be the simple solution.

Should be able to just copy them into the right folder though too I think.

Well audiobooks should automatically go to the proper folder as they're not .mp3
They're .m4b I think. m4b files allow you to save where you are on them, like a bookmark, so you can continue from where you last were even if you turn it off and listen to something else, something .m4a or .mp3 can't do.

Only if it's an ipod touch. If it's an older ipod they'll come up even if their category is Audiobook. Otherwise open itunes, right click on the file, click get info and make sure that the category is set to "Audiobook".
