IPOD Touch - March 7th 2010, 09:21 AM

Hey, I am really confused with the new Ipod Touch 3G.
What is the diff with the Ipod Touch 2G and 3g?
Is the 32GB really worth buying or should I just buy the 8GB?

I didn't know there was an iPod Touch 2G & 3G? But as for what size you should get, you should think about how many songs you have at the moment and if your collection will get any bigger, if you feel that you need space for a lot of songs then a 32GB would be best, if not then go for 8GB.

What 2g and 3g means, is the generation of the itouch. 2g is the seconed bunch of itouches and 3 is the latest itouch.

Re: IPOD Touch - March 7th 2010, 06:10 PM

The previous post is wrong.
iPod Touches don't have a "2G" or "3G" suffix attached to them. 2G and 3G (and now 4G) refer to the generation of cell network they can connect to, a 2G phone would run it's cell network internet slower than a 3G phone, and a 3G phone would be slower than a 4G one. But seeing as iPod Touches are not phones this does not apply.

In terms of space that would depend on how much music you plan to have on it. Right now I have 14GB of music on mine so an 8GB one wouldn't work for me. But at the same time my mom only has like 4GB of music on hers, so an 8GB one would be more than enough for her.
So which one would be better for you is totally up to you.

It's np, it is confusing! Apple should make it more clear in their advertisements what things mean.

The only reason I knew any better was because of the commercials for other phones here advertising 4G networks.

The new one is faster, has voice control (and comes with headphones that have a mic).
It also has a bigger disc space. They removed the 16GB, and upgraded it to 32GB for no extra price. Same price as the old 16GB.
Id go with 32GB. It's like 50 more, and you get SO much more space, and other cool stuff.
