WoW - March 12th 2010, 12:17 AM

What exactly is World of Warcraft? Because I know someone who plays this game and he won't really explain to me what this game is about telling me that I just wouldn't understand.

Have you ever played Toontown? World of Warcraft is like toontown for adults. You have to do quests and defeat people in order to get more stuff in order to get a prize. I played for a while, it was TONS of fun. I got busy with school work though, so no more WoW!

You have quests to do and have a lot of classes (character types) to do something, you can also do raids, and learn professions (such as engineering, and tailoring) too

Its lots of fun!

Its also a roleplay game thing. A lot of people get more involved with it then their real life friends and stuff. This may be the cause of his embarrassment?

It's a very popular MMORPG (I believe..) which stands for massive multiplayer online role playing game. It's basically a game where you start as one of a certain type and class and customise your character in turn based fights. Think like, final fantasy online or such. It's also pay per month. Look it up for better info.

Re: WoW - March 15th 2010, 06:41 PM

It's an addicting and largely pointless waste of ti- I mean game.

Seriously though, it's an MMORPG. Basically, millions of people live in a virtual world and do different things. There is an economy where people buy/sell/trade things that they make or find in various ways. There's a social aspect with clans and groups doing things together. There are quests that you can go on for various rewards. Kind of an oversimplified, boring version of a real MMO.

I think these articles explain best what it's like:
