Exclamation MSN Messenger...again. - April 12th 2010, 03:12 AM

Okay, so I uninstalled/reinstalled, made sure that I did it 'cleanly', i.e. deleted all previous files and whatnot. IT STILL DOESN'T WORK. Frankly, I'm getting really frustrated. I try to sign in, and it shows the little people turning like it's signing me in, then...nothing. It just goes back to the sign in screen. It's VERY annoying. Anyone have any suggestions as to what I'm doing wrong? Oh, and my internet connection is great and I'm typing my information in right as well, so it's not that.

Are you using a router? You may have to reset it (I've had a lot of problems with MSN where the solution seemed to be resetting my router).

Oh my god!!! When i had Vista it did this. (ive actually posted threads on this)
All you can really do, is download an older version of MSN here.
It really annoyed me. I waited months and months and it never worked. The icons just spun around, and went back to the sign in screen.
then i upgraded to 'Windows 7', installed MSN, and it worked again.

Try a different account, see if it's an account problem.

It's a problem with MSN not the accounts. I also tried making new accounts.

Yes, try the older version. That did solve my problem, the newer version never worked for me on XP, I ended up switching one PC to linux and slapping W7 on the second... :/ Not happy.

I agree that you should try an older version. I had to do that when my MSN stopped working.

Just a question though, did it used to work on the PC you're using at the moment?

check for system errors:
i) Click Start, and then type cmd in the Start Search box.
ii) Right-click cmd in the Programs list, and then click Run as administrator. If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type your password or click Continue
iii) At the command prompt, the following line, and then press ENTER:sfc /scannow

this will take a while...
after if it still does not work
uninstall msn completely again
and use Ebuddy for a few days then reinstall!
if that dont work get Ccleaner and clean yur registry
then try.

hope this helps.
and good luck!
