Ipod issues. - May 22nd 2010, 12:42 AM

Okay, before I throw my laptop out the window, I need some help. I've had my laptop (Windows 7) since January.. Ummm, I'm trying to finally install my ipod/itunes onto my laptop, so I can add more songs to it, etc. I can't figure out how to put the songs thats already on it, onto my computer... Help?

You are going to have to download a program I would recommend you to download one called “iPod to PC Transfer” http://www.ipodpctransfer.com/ and just follow the instructions.

Yeah its not something you can normally do, to be honest if you've ot the songs on your old computer, group them alll together in a folder, set tour ipod as a removable storage drive, transfer the songs onto it, then onto your new pc, whereever you want them, then add them to your itunes library... But then I'm just picky

That will take ages, it says with the free version I have to do it one song at a time unless I purchase it.

If you still have the songs on your old computer, just burn them to a DVD disk and transfer them that way. It's quicker than a CD

You could put your music on a USB pen drive thingy and use that to transfer your music over.
I did that, had to do it a couple of times because it ran out of memory but it was faster than one song at a time

Depending on which ipod you have you can also right-click-explore the ipod and pull out the audio files but the file names don't have any info to identify them like artist or song name (this could be done with older ipods). With hundreds of songs it would be more tedious to rename them than to use a ripping program.

I know you can also connect your ipod and open it with the "my computer" icon and there set your ipod so that it can be used as a "USB" Here is something I found that might help you more than me.

I'll PM you a link for a youtube video that shows you exactly how to do this. I do it every time we have to delete all our songs (computer back-up crap). It's so easy.
