Finding a phone - June 11th 2010, 04:01 PM

I'm trying to find a phone to use because I lost my old one. Now I have my sim card which has a contract on it but I need to get a phone for it. I'm a bit unsure of how to find one because on all the websites you either choose pay monthly or pay as you go phones, I THINK it's pay as you go phones I should look at but I wasn't too sure on it. Another question is where is a good place to get a phone? I want a reasonably cheap one because I have to pay half the price so I know it's not going to be a great one, I just want to make sure I'm getting it from the cheapest place so if anyone knows anything about phone companies in England that would be fab.

Thanks!

Visit shops like Carphone Warehouse or the actual network shop so like if you're on orange visit an orange shop.

Just buy a cheap pay as you go phone and stick your contract SIM in it

I have found a phone on a comparison website but I don't know if I should buy it off something that isn't really well known? It's this ... https://securesite.mobiles.co.uk/Car...T0000000O000.1

Well if there's an option to pay with Paypal use that?

I only use my actual card details on things like Amazon etc.

Phone scams are quite big, so I'd advise, as Cara said to stick to your network's website or one of their shops in your local area. Last time I needed a new phone, I actually got a really good deal off of orange's website.

Couldn't agree more.
Failing that you can always get it off a reputable internet site such as amazon (I got mine from Play.com)

I would get a pay as you go phone and put your contract sim into it which is what I did when I bought the Desire

Yeah, I know what you mean, luckily though I found the same phone on a different website that is part of the carphone warehouse and it's cheaper there so I think I'm going to go with that. Has anyone had the LG ks360 before? That's what I'm probably getting and I'm just wondering if it's any good because I'm a bit wary that I might not get much for 40 but it seems like a good phone. Also, I don't know whether to get blue or pink

It doesn't appear to be 3g enabled which would be an instant no for me. I think you can do better than that. 3g is really a must nowadays
