Re: mobile broadband - June 20th 2010, 10:51 AM

Unquestionably yes

That should correspond to a download speed of about 838.4 KiB/s

edit: and an upload speed of 39.68 KiB/s

A speed test cannot diagnose disconnection issues though. What is your average download speed on an ordinary file?

That is not quite as good, It could be because of high demand or poor signal

If you are having issues with the connection dropping out, you might check that you have the most recently updated software installed for your card. Failing that, you'd need to contact your service provider for technical support, and go through diagnostic testing.

Is it dropping the connection regardless to location, or does it vary by where you are at? If it's everywhere. If it's only in some places, you may be out of luck for the time being. Is it a 3G/4G card, or does it work off of cellular towers?

Re: mobile broadband - June 21st 2010, 10:15 PM

Well this is because people are confusing.

When internet is advertised it's advertised in "Bits"

Megabits to be precise. Not to be confused with megabytes.

For example I'm on 50 megabit internet, yet my actually download is 6.3 Megabytes per second. And my upload is 1.8 megabytes per second.
