4.0.2 iphone update - August 24th 2010, 03:16 PM

when i try to update my iphone 3g with the new 4.0.2 update, it requires me to allow it to back up my phone, but it wont load, ive been sitting here for an hour and it is not even 1/4 done. is there anyway i can speed this up?

So, is that what you call a getaway?
Tell me what you got away with.
Cause I've seen more spine in jellyfish.
I've seen more guts in eleven-year-old kids.
Have another drink and drive yourself home.
I hope there's ice on all the roads.
And you can think of me when you forget your seatbelt,
and again when your head goes through the windshield.

I think you've just got to let it run, maybe it hasn't backed up for a while so it might take a bit longer than usual. But if you're having major problems, hard reset your phone by holding down the home button and the power button for about 8 seconds until the Apple logo appears. And if that doesn't fix it you could try a restore. If all else fails, speak to Apple.

Take care.

You could try skipping the backup before the upgrade and do it after. If you haven't backed up in a while it could take longer, I keep trying to disable my backup to save time but it hasn't been working.

Anders: That's not evasive.
Isabela: Look, I didn't get where I am by showing my hand, you know?
Anders: No, it's not your hand that I've heard you've been showing...
