Exclamation Virus! D: - November 22nd 2010, 02:50 PM

Hii guys.

Switch on my computer to find out it has a virus. I can get on it (like I am now) but its on safe mode which means its limited to what I can go on and the screen is like massive!

Thing is, I don't have anything on my computer which will help get rid of a virus or protect.

Anyone know of anything which I can download which will help?

Thanks x

For now I'd say what you want to do is a system restore, it will restore your computer to a state before the virus, and you can pick which one.
As for anti virus software I use AVG and malwarebytes. Both of which are free, and AVG can be upgraded by paying but that isn't necessary.
Hope you get this fixed [:

If you're on vista open the start menu, go to accessories, then system tools, and its there under system restore. And it's the same for xp. Not sure about a mac if you're using that though.

Yeah, it should be in the system tools place. Just have a gander around. A restore should take you back to when you didn't have the virus. After that I would advise using an anti-virus like Avast or AVG.

Restore doesn't even help. Most of the time not, Because a file simply doesnt dissapear after you go " back " in time.

And the bad part is the virus might have fucked up your system restore which will lead to BSoD ( Blue Screen of Death ) If you try to Restore ..

My friend experienced this problem but i can surely help you.

AVG: http://free.avg.com/ww-en/download-free-antivirus

Here is the link to a anti virus, Just click " Download from CNET "

Once you've done that make sure you " Scan your whole computer " with it. It should find the virus and you will have the option to actualy remove it.

If that doesnt work there is a Anti Spyware called " SUPERantispyware " Ridicilus name but its better then AVG If you ask me.

Anti Spyware: http://www.superantispyware.com/down...NTISPYWAREFREE

I can help you if you have more problems, Just PM. Also good luck :P

Question; did it tell you what the virus is called? Or a description of it perhaps? And what exactly is it doing?
