Angry iPod Touch and Wifi - November 23rd 2010, 04:22 AM

Today I was on Youtube on my iPod Touch, when suddenly the screen went black. Then the apple appeared in the middle of the screen, as though my iPod was resetting. Ever since, I haven't been able to connect to Wifi. I use the correct password, but it won't let me on. So annoying! I have tried resetting it multiple times, but it never works. Also, the little wireless icon on the wireless router isn't lit up, yet everything's plugged in. Anyone know how to solve this?

P.S. The weather around here is windy and cold, so I don't know if that has anything to do with it. Also, our regular internet is working just fine.

The unloved one...

What I would suggest is plugging your ipod into your computer and then choosing to completely set it back its defaults, and then load everything back onto it. I've had to do this a couple times when I had problems with mine. It always fixed everything. Good luck!

And here you are living, despite it all.

Ah, how 'reliable' apple products really are :eyerolls:
But yes, try setting to back to factory settings

Hold the two buttons (power and home) at the same time for about 8-10 seconds until the apple appears. This is a hard reset and should fix the problem. If not, restore it on the computer via iTunes.

If that doesn't work, take it to an Apple shop (if there's one near you) and they should be able to do a diagnostic on it to see what's wrong. If that doesn't work either! Take it back to where you've got it from and try to exchange it or something.

But one of those should work

Try restarting you router, if the Wifi icon isn't lit up it might be a problem with your wireless--can you connect to your router via wireless with any other devices (laptop etc)? Then try connecting to your wireless (if the icon is not lit I'd assume it might have to do with your wireless).
Also, try connecting to a different Wifi base just to see if it is your wireless that isn't working. Are all the other features working? Like can you play music and access applications just fine?
If not, either take it into the Apple Store if your warranty isn't out yet, or reset your iPod by plugging it into your computer--but before you do this see if you can back up your music and purchases.

Leave the past behind, just walk away
When it's over, and the heart break
And the cracks begin to show
