itunes songs "not in right format" to transfer to iphone - December 25th 2010, 08:17 PM

Tagline says it all. Iphone 4, but about 75 itunes songs won't transfer because they "aren't in the right format." I didn't illegally download them. What does this mean and how can I fix it?

Are they from CDs or the iTunes store? If they are from CDs, it's possible they could be .wmas, and they won't transfer to your iPod. Right click on your songs and choose "create AAC version." This will duplicate the songs, and they should transfer.

Look it up on the website or on google.

I agree with this, the only formats I believe iPods are happy with are:
  • .mp3
  • .m4a
  • .wav (not 100% sure)
  • .acc
And probably some others, you can use Cola's method by converting them to .acc with iTunes but if you don't want to convert them to .acc you can google "Any Audio Converter" and use that to convert to any extension (It's free).
