Nook - December 27th 2010, 02:44 PM

I got a nook for christmas and also a barnes and noble gift card to go with it.

I got on the barnes and noble website and set up the gift card it says it's in there but I went to buy a book and it said its going to buy it off the credit card that I had set up previously instead of the giftcard I just set up.

Does anybody know how to change that so I can use the money on my giftcard?

Is the gift card set up under your user id on your nook? Also during check out they may have an option to use credit card or gift card..
I just recently got my Nook Color for Christmas so haven't figured out everything just yet..

Maybe try going to "Quick help" at the bottom right hand of B&N's website.. click on "Customer Service" Then click "Review or Change your payment methods" under the "Your account" section on the right hand side

If that doesn't work try calling customer service at 1-800-THE-BOOK (1-800-843-2665).

I've been having the same problem. I heard you still have to have a credit card in order to buy things and it should automatically charge to your gift card, but I haven't had any luck yet.

And here you are living, despite it all.

My dad figured it out

I'm pretty sure you do have to have a credit card set up as well that way if you don't have enough money on your gift card the rest gets charged to the credit care.

But he just registered my gift card in my barnes and noble account and when I bought the book it took it off my gift card.

Thanks guys.
