Exclamation Being on phone contract and ringing Samaritans? - January 4th 2011, 10:07 AM

I was wondering whether any one knows if when you're on contract and ring a helpline like Samaritans which is not free and does in fact charge, whether it uses your minutes or adds on to your bill?

Because I have 200 minutes per month (I think) And I spent 40 minutes on the phone to them last night, but my minutes is 191 and 12 seconds since 9.1am this morning. So I am worried it's not used my minutes and gone straight on my bill which is already 30 pounds over what it should be which isnt even right so my mums already having to try and sort it and I just, I can't have my bill going over. My mum will kill me.

Oh and I have emailed orange asking but knowing them, they'll take for ever to get back to me.

If you know, please let me know
Thank you.

I'm not actually sure but I had a look on the Samaritans website and it mentions something about contact phones and different network providers but I'm not actually sure what it means

Here's the link to what I mean ------> http://www.samaritans.org/talk_to_so...providers.aspx
Hopefully you're able to make more sense of it!

If not and you phone them again, perhaps that's something you could ask? Helplines like the Samaritans have supervisors on each shift so if the person you're speaking to doesn't know there should be someone around that you can ask and I'm pretty sure they wouldn't have a problem finding out for you

I am a moderator on another site and we have done training with Samaritans, and also have a working relationship with them. If you give me your number, and permission for me to pass your number onto them, I am able to get them to call you. This won't then show up on your bill or cost you money.

It's just another option if you run out of credit or minutes or anything like that

Edit: I think you might have to message me on the other site for it to fit in with the agreement we have with them? I'm not sure. It's thestudentroom. Message me if you're interested, anyway.

And PLEASE don't try and shove it down my throat.
