Do you use an ad blocker? - April 18th 2011, 09:03 PM

I do. I have the "AdBlock Plus" and "Better pop up blocker" add-ons installed on google chrome for the simple reason that adverts piss me off.

I use "Ad Block Plus" on Firefox. For websites especially like fanfiction.net, since the 'no-ads' button is only good for one day now, it's very useful.

I use Adblock extension and click-to-play option enabled (as of now, this option is available in the about:flags page) on Chrome.
I use Adblock Plus add-on and NoScript add-on on Firefox.

Just a note to those who use ad-blocking softwares: It's fine to have adblocking software on your computer because some sites really have too many ads, and some ads might contain malwares.

But blocking ads on ALL sites is like stealing money from the webmasters. If you visit a site often and find it useful (like TeenHelp, for example), then you should disable ad-blocking on that site.

Guys, give and take. Bandwidth costs money, too, you know.

I don't have an ad blocker. Most of the time you can avoid pop ups by simply avoiding certain websites, and even when they do come up, I just close them. A minor inconvenience doesn't seem like the justification for me to download or buy something for my computer.
