Disk drive trouble. -

Hey.
So I was going to play Sims on my laptop earlier on. I've never had any trouble doing so before hand, but as of yesterday it pops up a message saying that no CD drive was found. This has happened on my sister laptop and my mums laptop too; all the same one. I've had it for a couple of years though, is this the reason? Or is there something I can do to fix it? Thanks!
