Sims 3 Generations! - June 19th 2011, 08:51 PM

Has anyone gotten the newest expansion? What's your favorite thing that they've added?

I LOVE being able to punish my kids

"'Colie, you should never be surprised when people treat you with respect. You should expect it.'
I shook my head. 'You don't know--' I began. But, as usual, she didn't let me finish.
'Yes,' she said simply, 'I do know. I've watched you, Colie. You walk around like a dog waiting to be kicked. And when someone does, you pout and cry like you didn't deserve it.'
'No one deserves to be kicked,' I said.
'I disagree,' she said flatly. 'You do if you don't think you're worth any better...'"

It's awesome <333333333 The imaginary friends freak me out though I had to tell mine to leave the kid alone because he kept following her to the bathroom >.>

I love punishing them too I haven't played through the teen stage yet though, the kid's growing up soon so it won't be too long

How do you make an elder use a cane?

Re: Sims 3 Generations! - June 19th 2011, 10:09 PM

I haven't gotten to Elder yet, but my guess is it'd be an accessory in the outfit part. I'm upset I haven't had any priveledges taken away, just time out and grounding...but it's SO funny seeing a teen be put in time out..

I have six kids, and half of them have imaginary friends...when the teens throw parties, I tell them to leave me alone until after and then I apologize

I can't wait to try out the Mysterious Gnome family option now!

It's sooooo amazing!!!!
I personally love being able to sign up for after school activities and seeing the kids graduate. The bachelor and bachelorette parties are also fun.
The imaginary friends annoy me, as well as the automatic memories. I might turn memories off and just do my own since they're like, "Yay, your sim just Woohoo'd a celebrity!" (Every time O.O) if you just Woohoo with your spouse. >.> That is, if you have Late Night. The imaginary friends creep me out, not gonna lie. They always follow you.

You can't turn memories off. There's a huge mess on the official sims 3 forum about it, partially because every sim gets pointless memories of going the park, creating a new outfit, etc. So at some point, every sim in your neighborhood, whether you play them or not, will have 300 memories. It's causing problems for some people because the file sizes are tripling in size and computers can't handle it. There's a mod out now to help fix it though.

Oh I love the sims. ^_^

The cane for elders is in buy mode, then tell them to put it in their inventories. Then you can choose their 'walking style' with it. xD

My favourite things...Time out is funny, and I find amusement in pranking the houses by throwing eggs and putting down bags of flaming poo.

Oh really? I thought it was under the options. I'll definitely have to download that mod then.

And Toxxxic21, I'm so sorry, you're seriously being deprived.
But at least you'll get it eventually. (It'll be worth the wait )

The only thing under options is to turn off the notifications for it, it doesn't actually stop them from getting all the pointless memories

EA made a major flaw.

Aw, that sucks... I kinda need my memories saved because I'm doing the 100 baby challenge so I have at least 100 memories to make just about that.
But yay for mods!!! (And daaang, they got that mod out really fast!)

I haven't gotten an expansion since World Adventures. :/ I'll admit, Generations does look pretty sweet. Nonetheless, even if I did get it, I probably wouldn't play. I haven't played Sims much since going to college. I've kind of lost interest in it.

They do come out with patches. But so far not for this HUGE issue, although I haven't checked in two weeks since I've been away.

Most glitches affect small gameplay things, this certain glitch can affect your entire computer.

As far as I know generations is only for pc but don't take my word for that.

Okay, is anyone else having a meteor issue?
Ever since I got Generations meteors have been dropping like crazy. All of my Sims are slowly becoming shut-ins.
I know there's a mod to reduce the number of meteor, but it isn't compatible with the latest patch so I can't get it.
