i need help making a choice. - July 7th 2011, 04:08 AM

So I'm in a bit of a tight spot. My phone is crap; it's only a few months old and it's acting so stupid. something broke so when someone calls, i cant hear it unless it's on speaker. that's really annoying. i cannot exchange it because the time is up. I would like to switch over to at&t but its more expensive then staying at tmobile. my other idea would be to cancel my phone; get a really cheap phone that allows texting and calling and then get an itouch. I would like to have the itouch because i still want to be able to listen to music, take good pictures, and surf the web. So i guess my real question would be if you compared the itouch to an iphone, etc. What is it missing? and what do they have in common?

Right now, the iPod touch and iPhone have similar capabilities in terms of what applications they can operate, so that doesn't seem like a big issue. However, the iPhone 4's camera is FAR superior to the iPod touch's camera (referring mainly to the forward-facing camera, the iPhone's user-facing cam is only somewhat better quality than the iPod's).

Also, what tends to be the case with software and iPod/iPhone upgrades with Apple is that operating system upgrades tend to happen as frequently as the new iPhones come out -- and iPhones made before the new update can, more often than not, perform an in-home upgrade of OS. With iPod touch, it's generally assumed that you're stuck with the operating system that it has when you purchase it (including software updates, but it won't be possible to upgrade from one OS to a completely new one).

It's also, from what I observe, much faster to browse the web on an iPhone as opposed to on an iPod. But that's not really a principal concern.

One major con about iPhones: $$$. $. Not appealing, when you could essentially purchase the iPod touch and not have to pay another cent to use it afterward.

If it were me, I'd go with the iPod touch simply because it's cheaper in the long run (and because the cameras aren't really of much interest to me); however, if I had the resources, I'd go with the iPhone.

Anything from apple sucks. You are better off buying a phone that does EXACTLY the same thing. The Samsung Galaxy and HTC does what the I phone does :/

Their expensive, but far suppirior to Apple x
