How to fix this? - August 30th 2011, 01:46 AM

I use Windows Media Player and I have never had this problem. I have a newer version of it too, I believe it's 10 or 11 I'm not sure.
Anyways, everytime I put in a CD, it doesn't recognize the CD. It plays the CD fine, but it doesn't recognize the tracks, it only says, "track 1 and track2", it doesn't say the actual band or song or anything.
Is there some way to fix this? Do I need to install another version of it?

1. Hit F10 to force the menu bar to show up (if it isn't already visible).
Note: On the menu bar, if you click on Help ---> and select About Windows Media Player, you should be able to see your current version. I'm assuming that you have version 12.

2. Go to Options ---> click Privacy tab

3. Make sure that you ticked the boxes where it says "Display media info from the internet" and "Update music files by retrieving media info from the internet."

4. See if that works.

Opps, #2 should have been Tools ---> Options ---> click on Privacy tab.

I accidentally left out the "Tool" part in my previous post. Sorry if it caused you much trouble

I'm glad it worked out fine, though!
