Music help! - October 19th 2011, 01:33 PM

Is there any way to transfer music from my iPod to my iPad? I tried doing it in iTunes but it didn't work. It's asking me to log in on my iPad, but I don't have all 360 songs in my purchased store, only about half of that. So what do I do? I don't want to have to pay for songs I've already bought!

With the new update, Apple has added iCloud to iTunes. This allows you to download your past purchases from any device. You can try that.
What do you mean by not all 360 of your songs are in your purchased? Did you purchase all of them?

Another way would be to manually download what songs you don't have on your computer from your iPod to your computer. There is 3rd party software to do so-be careful! Then from there, put them on your iPad.

I had this problem too with my iPod Touch fourth Generation, try going into iTunes and going to the Purchases section, there you should see a button that says "download previous purchases.", you have to hit that button and then iTunes will bring up a list of all of your artists and how many songs you have by them, you can choose to download all, or go Artist by Artist. As long as all of the songs are on the same iTunes account that you log in with, they should be able to go from iTunes to the iPad without needing the iPod. If this doesn't work, then log in with the iPad and the iPod and try going into the iTunes store on the iPod, click purchases then there should be a link about downloading purchases, if not, then you should probably contact Apple tech support.
Also, do you have the latest version of iTunes. (10.5.0.142)? If so, when you go into download from the iPod to the iPad, with the iCloud and both devices logged in to the account, the purchases should be able to transfer between the two devices. (someone correct me if my understanding of the iCloud with previous purchases and connection to multiple dvices is wrong)
I hope this helps.

Do you have a hardware back up disk ? I've got this problem with mine too, well mines more an old laptop and an new laptop and getting Itunes onto the new laptop, but any-hows. Enough of my old and new laptop.

If you have a hardware back up disk, insert that and pop Itunes onto the hardware back up drive disk (I'm hoping Ipads have a disk slot on them ). and then insert the disk into the Ipad and back it up. The other one you could try is emailing the Itunes to yourself, and then opening it up on your Ipad from the email account on your Ipad. and then Itunes should hopefully be on your Ipad.
