Filling in something on adobe? -
November 29th 2011, 11:38 AM
So, I'm trying to apply for a job and it says to download the application form, fill it in and email it to them so I downloaded the application form and it opened in adobe reader, which is what the site says I need to see it but I can't seem to be able to fill it in. It does say if I need anything changing or something along those lines to fill in the form to contact the recruitment manager but there isn't any email/telephone number or anything to contact them so I just emailed the place on the email I found for it but until I get a reply back, I was hoping someone could help me out with it?
This is the website with the application form on it and as I said, I did everything it told me to do, I went through every option in adobe to see if I could find something to let me do it but nothing. So, any ideas? |

Here are pictures of what you can do. Basically, I took a screen-shot of the PDF application, pasted into MS Word then filled in the various sections. Once filled, go to File -> Save As -> PDF or XPS. Follow the pictures below to help.
http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/811/89904033.jpg/ ^^ minimized the screen size of the PDF so it could all fit onto MS Word http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/440/69211955.jpg/ ^^ cropped and expanded it. Don't worry it if doesn't entirely fill the page, when it is converted to PDF, it will look fine . http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/842/24811434.jpg/ ^^ The highlighted option allows me to convert it to PDF or XPS because I already downloaded the particular programs needed. If it does not show the same on yours, then you may have to download the program but once you have it will look like mine. Just click and it converts to a PDF, however, you cannot make any changes once it is a PDF, you have to do the changes in MS Word then convert to PDF. I can rip you off, and steal all your cash, suckerpunch you in the face, stand back and laugh. Leave you stranded as fast as a heart-attack.

This was posted on Nov. 29, 2011; so I'm probably a little too late. (Sorry, I don't visit TeenHelp very often any more since it's pretty much dead around here lately.) But just in case you still want a fillable PDF form, here you go:
Please choose Download Original (File ---> Download Original) on here: [link to fillable form]. Yes, it is editable after downloaded! (Courtesy to Google Docs) And good luck with your job application! ![]() Oh, and creating a fillable and savable PDF form takes a lot of time so that's probably the reason why the guy (Andrew Dawson, in this case) who created that PDF didn't make it fillable. It took me almost 10 minutes to convert it to a fillable PDF form; that's very long considering that it only has 3 pages (try imagine converting a 30-page form with that speed )Besides, that form was created in Adobe InDesign CS4, making it all the more complicated. |

That's awesome, thanks for both replies and for doing that for me. That's a real help as I haven't heard back from yet!

Since I'm too late now just for future reference it might be better to download Foxit reader. It's free and is for viewing PDFs but it's a lot easier to use, loads faster (at least for me it does) and you can just start filling things in without having to do all of the above

. I forgot to mention that the form requires you to sign it; so I made it into a digital signature area. Adobe Reader should be able to generate a digital signature for you. You can also scan a picture of your real signature then import it in. Please do not edit the PDF again once you've signed and dated it. In most states of the USA, a proper digital signature should hold the same legal binding as a traditional signature. However, since you're living in the UK, I don't know the laws there. So, it's up to you to find out, .Quote:
Foxit Reader is a PDF reader, not editor.
