CD/DVD regions - January 1st 2012, 02:20 PM

I live in the UK, which is region 2. I was wondering, if I buy a region 3 CD and DVD, will I be able to play them in my computer and CD player?

There's always light at the end of a tunnel, even if you have to pass a few bends to see it.

You can use a region 3 CD and DVD in your region 2 players in most cases. On some disks you can't, but on most you can. If you're buying it from a store and not online then you should ask the person working there. It also depends on the disk player and where you got that. I hope this helps you.

Well from my experience, America and Japan have similar disc codes. They are both NSTC. But in most cases japanese dvd will not play in an american dvd player. I guess it doesn't hurt to try. If you still have issues, you can try to see if you can get a disc converter. It would be a mock dvd you put into the player, it would then instruct you to enter the dvd you cannot play because of region codes.

Knowledge is half the battle.
