Cleaning a keyboard -
January 28th 2012, 07:13 PM
My keyboard has gotten kind of icky. There's all dirt in-between the keys and it's kind of dusty. It's an apple wireless keyboard to be exact:
![]() How could I clean it without hurting it? I've tried taking the batteries out and using a dry toothbrush but it didn't really work.

A canister of compressed air costs about a dollar or so and is the best thing to clean a keyboard.
You can also buy a keyboard gel, which is a sticky ball meant to take out debris, but as others have said Play-Dough should work just as well. - Justin ![]() |

I usually take a few cotton tips and lightly dip them in water. I then use the cotton tips to get to the edges of the keys to get the dust or dirt. That is just a quick easy method which doesn't require you to leave the house.

If you do the QTip and water method, make sure not to overload on water and make sure it is off before dabbing.
Otherwise, yes I agree, try silly putty or something. Play dough...I think isn't the best to use because it breaks off easily ie the small bits of dough that gets left behind. Can of air will always work. I know this will work for the fan of a computer, but getting an attachment for a vacuum and vacuuming your keyboard may work for things like dust (obviously not for grime). Leave the past behind, just walk away When it's over, and the heart break And the cracks begin to show *~*~This little girl was alone in the world~*~* Hold Onto Hope |
