Can you pluck upper lip hair? - September 2nd 2014, 11:56 AM

As the title says really

I have upper lip hair, but it is more noticeable on the corners. I also have a few hairs on my chin. I'm a bit self-conscious about it because I have pale skin and dark hair.

I've heard you're not supposed to shave it. My skin is sensitive so don't want to go down the bleaching and hair removal route. Never done waxing before, but have looked into it generally and the home wax kits usually say not good for beginners.

So thoughts on plucking? Though I've never plucked my eyebrows either, so I'm guessing it would hurt?

You can pluck it, but the middle of your lip will hurt a lot more than the corners, it's really not that painful. You're not supposed to shave it because it will grow back thicker.

Get a washcloth wet with warm water and put that on your upper lip for a minute or so. It will make plucking less painful because it loosens your skin.

And here you are living, despite it all.

Yes you can pluck upper lip hair. I personally would recommend putting powder in the place before doing so because it can hurt really bad, depending on how sensitive your skin is.

I pluck mine, but it does grow back thicker and darker, so I have to stay on top of it!! The warm washcloth trick is good advice. And it can be a little sore but you get used to it.
