What's your opinion on using shoes to make yourself taller? - December 7th 2015, 05:00 AM

I wish I was taller. I put extra cushions in my shoes to make myself look taller so that when wearing them, I am a couple of inches taller than normal. Being short frustrates me because there is absolutely nothing else you can do about the fact that you just didn't grow tall as a kid- if you are fat you can always lose at least some weight. Height seems to be pretty important- especially for women when it comes to dating.

My question is: is this ridiculous or embarrassing? I feel more confident when I am wearing shoes that make me taller. Not entirely because I "look" taller to other people, but even just when I look down and see that the floor looks a bit further away - I like that.

I don't think it's ridiculous or embarrassing at all.

I'm short and find it embarrassing when I have to ask for help to get something off the top shelf in a shop I can't walk in heels, but do like something that has a bit of a wedge.

Buuuut, recently I made friends with a tall guy who told me all of his woes of being tall- his feet hang out of his bed, and the bath is uncomfortable, so I realised being short isn't too bad after all

If it makes you happy, I say go for it.

I'm a 5ft11 tall woman so I have the opposite problem. And actually, it's far more difficult to make yourself shorter than it is taller. Plus guys view us tall girls as, like, a separate species or something.

Be kind to yourself.
