Eye makeup designs - July 21st 2009, 09:04 PM

I haven't been doing my eyeliner lately because it used to be too much of a hassle for me. I always put on a thick line and to get it even was a huge task for me so I gave up lol. Now I'm trying to make it look more...girly? So i've tried putting eyeliner on just the inside of my eye, a very thin line. i'm always trying mascara for the first time but I don't really know how to do it. i have long eye lashes as it is so how much mascara do I need to put on?

I could really use some help or pretty eye make up designs. I'm looking for something that will brighten up my eyes and make me look more attractive to the guys. I'm going into the 10th grade this year and last year was when I really discovered my interest for guys so I could really use some cool make up tips. Thanks

If you want to make your eyes appear larger, get a light, medium and dark eyeshadow [nothing drastic, more neutral tones]. Apply the lighter color to the inside of your eyes, [tear duct area] and right underneath your eyebrows if you wish, the medium to your lid and the darker to your crease. This will give a bit more depth to your eyes and draw a bit more attention to them.

For eyeliner, having a very thin line at the inner eye that gradually gets thicker [but still not very thick] opens the eyes up. I find that for creating thin lines, liquid or gel liner is the best, pencil liner also smudges more easily and doesn't last me through school. Also, if you use a white pencil eyeliner on your waterline your eyes will appear larger because it will blend in with the white of your eye.

Since you have longer lashes, you don't need to much mascara. I have longer lashes myself, but being blonde they don't show up so I just put on one coat to darken them. If you have dark hair yourself you may not even need mascara, just be careful not to get eyeshadow on your lashes or wipe it off if you do.

When in doubt of my own skills or ideas, I always go to youtube and look up tips for applying different things. You may have to search a little but there are some very good tutorials on there. One person I think you'd like is MichellePhan.

Liquid eyeliner is so much better than pencil... and if you want to draw attention to your eyes I'd suggest something like Stargazer Eyeshadow or Barry M, although they're far from subtle...
