Sugaring Legs? - January 18th 2010, 02:18 AM

So I got this sugaring stuff from the Body Shop, and I used it today. I heated it up and spread it on then tore the fabric strip off just like you're supposed to. Problem is, it didn't get all the hair off, even after I repeated my actions. Am I doing something wrong? Thanks

I sent him a card and I drew a picture of a Wild Thing on it. I wrote,
“Dear Jim: I loved your card.”
Then I got a letter back from his mother and she said, “Jim loved your card so much he ate it.”
That to me was one of the highest compliments I’ve ever received. He didn’t care that it was an original Maurice Sendak drawing or anything.
He saw it, he loved it, he ate it."

I've only done DIY sugaring, but it's possible that the sugar crap was too soft.. and like didn't harden enough around your hair, hence it was able to tear out of the soft sugar pudge and not rip off your leg?

I would wait for the stuff to harden better.. maybe it wasn't hot enough? Idk, something like that.

how hard should it be? the temp that i had it made it so that when i prodded it my finger could still make it inside the layer of goop. is that too soft? it was about the consistency of honey when i tore the strip off.

any help would be appreciated

Hun, a big thing to consider is what type of hair you have. I'll use myself as an example, I've got really wiry leg hair (thank you gene pool) and so it doesn't like to come out very well. You may need to invest in something a bit more heavy duty. Personally I use Persian Cold Wax. You can buy it at Wal-Mart and it is an excellent hair remover. I have noticed over the years that the type you buy needs to correspond with the type of hair you have. I've also noticed that if you have never waxed or just haven't in a long time the hair is harder to remove as it is rooted much more firmly. There is nothing to do but follow the instructions and repeat the process every few weeks (or whatever the box says). Alexandria (or is it Alexandra? anyways) is another really good one and comes in many different types for different types of hair types. Happy Waxing!!!
