Negitive Labels - May 26th 2010, 05:51 PM

I just want to start off with saying that I don't like labeling myself and/or other people as a certain style, but I wouldn't ever hate a person for being a certain way.

Recently I've been running into these Fan (Like pages as they now call them) Pages and a lot of them are just utterly tearing out what they hate about a certain style bit by bit. I know they have a right to opinion but some of the things they say can really hurt a person.

Why do so many people hate certain labels when the chances are they have no reason to?

(It doesn't exactly bother me, I'm just curious about all your opinions.)

Ignorance / stupidity / close minded

Or just too blind to see past the light shining outa their own ass.

And some people like to be opinionated, and make a big deal of it, simply to get attention for it. Say something rude and stupid and everyone looks at you.

"I don't care about politics"
Then politics doesn't care about you either. Truth. You've got to make your voice heard, if you want to be listened to. But that's too logical for some people, so let me go a step further. Not making your voice heard, leaves other people free to hijack it by speaking on your behalf, even if they don't actually give a shit about you. That's politics. So, make your voice heard. That's not a quote from anywhere. That's just me.

To be honest I think the pages are trying to get at people who try and "be" the stereotype since many kids are doing that these days and its getting quite ridiculous. If you act as yourself and be yourself if, you are labeled in this way who cares, at least your not trying to be someone else.
