Re-inventing myself. - August 4th 2010, 03:20 AM

School starts really soon and I've really changed and it really does feel great. At the beginning of summer, I was a scared, shy, little person who didn't use her brain as much as she could. But now, I think I've really matured. I try to think things through before I act on them. I'm less scared. I used to pretty much only wear skinny jeans and a t-shirt. Sometimes a skirt or short-shorts, but that's pretty much it. But I just got a lot of awesome dresses and more "risky" things. I love my new clothes so much. I'm still just a little nervous. I'm okay with whatever other people think about my style, but I'm scared my friends who pretty much don't have a diverse style (mostly they all have a "skater", "normal" style of clothing). I know that my true friends will just accept me for who I am, I'm just scared of what will go on in their heads. I'm scared they'll think, "Wow. What is with Luna's dress? What happened to her skinny jeans?" I know it's stupid, and eventually I'll get over it, but is there any way to get through this scary part in a more easy way? It's just the part where my imagination gets the better of me and I start to think of all the things that could go wrong. Sooo... Help?

I feel that a good amount of people have gone through this before, including me. People change, and its possible that some of your friends changed/grew up along with you too?

If your really nervous, I'd try to slowly incorporate your new clothes into your outfits. That way, it might give people a chance to slowly get used the newer you.

Most likely, your friends will think it is awesome. They may be a bit shocked at first, but they will get over the shock. (:

If you are really worried about it, incorporate your new clothes slowly like the poster above said. (:
