nail painting tips? -
August 30th 2010, 06:36 PM
So... I was painting my nails this morning...
(it's a first time thing for me )And it was... difficult. .-. I was just wondering does anybody have any tips on how to paint your nails? Or is it just one of those 'practice makes perfect' type of thing? |

I think it's definitely a practise thing! I love painting my nails so I do it all the time and am used to it so I can do mine okay. What I tend to do though is just paint them not bothering about going over onto my skin and then afterwards clean them up so they are neat. That way I find that I can get the brush strokes going the same way/even/neat on my actual nails and that's all that matters to me. I can clear up the mess of colour on my skin after
Don't give up though, really, it's taken me quite a few goes to do it myself

make sure you put a base coat on. it makes the polish go on a lot smoother. and put a top coat on (seche vite is the best.) as for actually applying it, make sure you lay your hand on a flat surface and rest your wrist on the table. don't worry if it's not very neat.. what i do is wait for my polish to dry, get a q-tip and dip it in nail varnish remover then go over any bit of nail varnish that have got onto your fingers and rub it off.

hahaha i completely agree with saying that I can only do my left hand! Its definitely a practice makes perfect thing! Make sure you have something to wipe the nail polish off as soon as you make a mistake though, then you wont even really need remover.
