nail painting tips? - August 30th 2010, 05:36 PM

So... I was painting my nails this morning...
(it's a first time thing for me )
And it was... difficult. .-.
I was just wondering does anybody have any tips on how to paint your nails?
Or is it just one of those 'practice makes perfect' type of thing?

I think it's definitely a practise thing! I love painting my nails so I do it all the time and am used to it so I can do mine okay. What I tend to do though is just paint them not bothering about going over onto my skin and then afterwards clean them up so they are neat. That way I find that I can get the brush strokes going the same way/even/neat on my actual nails and that's all that matters to me. I can clear up the mess of colour on my skin after Don't give up though, really, it's taken me quite a few goes to do it myself

make sure you put a base coat on. it makes the polish go on a lot smoother. and put a top coat on (seche vite is the best.) as for actually applying it, make sure you lay your hand on a flat surface and rest your wrist on the table. don't worry if it's not very neat.. what i do is wait for my polish to dry, get a q-tip and dip it in nail varnish remover then go over any bit of nail varnish that have got onto your fingers and rub it off.

..and our dreams will break the boundaries of our fears..

I can only do my left hand nice because I am right handed.
My right hand always looks a mess.

hahaha i completely agree with saying that I can only do my left hand! Its definitely a practice makes perfect thing! Make sure you have something to wipe the nail polish off as soon as you make a mistake though, then you wont even really need remover.
