High heels - September 2nd 2010, 06:30 PM

I am not supposed to wear high heels because of genetics, but I absolutely love them.
Is there any way I can wear them? Any suggestions?

I don't know what kind of genetics would not allow you to wear high heels.
I really am not supposed to wear them either because of the problems I have but I do. I just find really sexy/hot ones that have good support around them.
Really, you have to choose beauty over gentics. We are women and sometimes beauty is pain.

I guess it is up to you really and how much you value your health. You can wear heels now but it may ruin your feet later in your life because of your genetic problem (whatever that may be). Either way, there is clearly a reason you were told you shouldn't wear them but I suppose if you want to go ahead and wear them anyway then it's up to you and you will just have to face the consequences of that. If you are going to wear them then get the most supportive ones you possibly can.

I would advice not wearing high heels if thats what you've been told -- it's just not worth permanent damage or problems in the future!

However if you are going to go and do it anyway then perhaps look at some wedges rather than heels? Same effect but less strain on your feet (I find).

Kitty has E.D.S. like myself (I think that's what you're talking about anyway ) I can't wear a lot of shoes either for this problem. For years I have worn shoes which have made my feet/ankles quite bad and now I've given up. I now just wear supportive shoes wherever I go.

I've never even tried wearing high heels as I know it would go wrong. For all I know maybe there are supportive high heels out there

Personally I wouldn't take the risk.

if you've been advised not to then i really wouldn't. i never wear heels because i had an operation on my leg and i don't have the best balance now. you can get loads of gorgeous shoes that are flats.

What the others said is right ~ really it's up to you. But you can get some really gorgeous flats or even shoes with very low heels that look lovely. x

What about some high-heel boots, for some sort of ankle support? Maybe if you have ankle support, it may be easier.

Though, you'd probably be better off talking to your doctor, they may know of some makers of footwear that can help you with this problem.

Thanks everyone for all of your replies! I'll look into some wedges, high heel boots, and perhaps some flats.
