Red lipstick -
February 26th 2011, 01:15 PM
I really like red lipstick but I think it looks kind of stupid on me :/ I wear a "cool" red colour as I have a cool undertone but it still doesn't look right :/ any tips/ideas?

I have the same problem. Red looks stupid as on me. Maybe go to the counter and ask them to recommend a shade. Personally I wear lipstain instead, it lasts longer and pretty much does the same job just without being like caked on your lips ... i.e. you can't tell it's there.
You can't move mountains by whispering at them. Take a look at my art here: http://attemptedart.tumblr.com/ |

I wrote, “Dear Jim: I loved your card.” Then I got a letter back from his mother and she said, “Jim loved your card so much he ate it.” That to me was one of the highest compliments I’ve ever received. He didn’t care that it was an original Maurice Sendak drawing or anything. He saw it, he loved it, he ate it." |

i've heard ELF lip stains are good, never tried them myself though.
also.. make sure you moisturise your lips before putting your lipstick on. either with lip balm or vaseline/moisturiser. or else it will look too dry. |

I don't like how I look in red lipstick either haha. Try asking someone who works at Sears or Sephora, and asking what shades would look good on you. They can also give you tips on how to keep it looking good for a long time. I personally wear lip shimmer or lip stain, I hate how lip gloss feels :P
