Applying eyeliner to inner corner - March 5th 2011, 02:32 PM

Hey I've looked all over the internet and can't find ANYONE with the same issue as me. I have 2 beauty problems!!!

1. Issues applying eyeliner to the inner corner of my eye (and having it look good)

2. Getting it to stay looking good

I'm in a band, so I always do my make up really dark and dramatic. Very similar to Avril Lavigne's makeup. So there is a thick line of eyeliner around the corner of the eye. I just CAN'T seem to get this right! It always seems too pointed, I cant seem to get eyeliner all the way around the corner. Anyone know what I'm talking about or have any suggestions? Could it just be that I have a weird eye shape? lol

and as far as getting it to stay there, I use a crayon pencil and after a couple hours, all of the eyeliner ends up on top of my tear duct and it looks silly. I try to dab it out with my finger but end up messing up the whole inner corner. What can I do about this?

These are very particular questions, lol but I'm kind of a perfectionist and I want my makeup to look good!

Thanks

Yeah, I get that too, and they best thing to do is use liquid instead. It stays where you put it for longer and is darker, but it's a little tricky to apply.

When you do, make sure you rest your elbow on something to make your hand steadier if you're a beginner. Then start in the middle of the upper lid and go towards the outer corner of your eye. Do it as close to the lash line as possible, then fill in any gaps. Then go from the middle to the inner corner, but make it go a little skinner when it get to the corner.

You can do it on the bottom lash line as well if you like, and flicks at the outer corner usually look nice. If you find it difficult with a regular one, you can get liquid pens that are easier to apply, but generally more watery so not as black.

If you still want the smoky-ness that you get from pencil, dust some black eyeshadow over the line when it's dry, and it'll go smudgier.

The best one I've found is Rimmel exaggerate liguid eye liner,

Anyways, hope this helps

Hey. Y'know, you're gorgeous. Don't change, yeah?

Awesome, I'll try liquid. I do have it but I'm allergic to most makeup products and it burns my skin. But once it's dry it's not so bad. I'll try cringing through it :P

Thanks!!

I agree making it thinner will help.
Keep your hand steady and just slowly follow the contours of your eyes. You can always use the smugger that some eyeliners come with.
If all else fails, make it thicker on the outer corners to make up for not having it in the inner corners, it will still give you the look you want.

if the advice above doesn't work, don't worry too much about it. Most people won't notice, especially if you're on stage and a little distance away.
