Good waxing products - March 8th 2011, 06:37 PM

I was wondering if any of you have tried any waxing products that you would reccommend? I just dont want to pay salon prices so I'd rather have my friends do it for me. Also, how long does it last before it starts to grow back, and how much does it hurt (not that I'm too bothered about that, I'll get over the pain). I'm in the UK by the way..

Thanks

It doesn't hurt that bad. People make it out like something out of a horror story. It DOES hurt just not that much. If it was so bad people wouldn't do it. Depending on how fast your hair growth etc is it will last from 2-4 weeks. Also, repeated waxing tends to have the effect of thining out hair growth in my experience.

Which waxing product did you use? Or did you get it done by a professional?

hey, im from the us but my favorite brand of wax is gigi. i use there hard wax for everywhere.

http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_ss...=gigi+hard+wax this kind of stuff. i got there hard wax starter kit for about $25, and its lasted me about 6 months. the only things i've had to get more of was the lotions you use before and after.

hope this helps.

I used a product I bought at Target for about $12 dollars (I guess I getall my girlie products from Target, haha). I forget the name, but it worked extremely well.
That was about... two or three weeks ago? my skin is still smooth. Some tiny hairs growing in, but they are soft and don't irritate. The box said up to 8 weeks, but I'm assuming it's different for everyone.
As for the pain, my skin is extremely sensitive so for me the pain was pretty severe when I first started. After awhile it wasn't too bad, you sort of get used to the sting and it's more of a "shock" factor afterward.
I didn't have someone helping me so it might be easier for you since you'll have a friend to help you.
