Knee High Socks... - April 3rd 2011, 11:58 PM

So, I'd like to wear some kind of dress and shorts this summer but I need my calves covered due to still having noticeable scars.

It's getting a bit hot for leggings and I hate wearing tights because the always ladder and I wind up having to throw them away after I've worn them once. So I thought. Socks.

What kind of stuff looks good with knee highs? Since I see some people wearing things and they look silly and I don't want to look silly

Pictures would be great

Go back to the 80s!

JOKING!

Um, knee highs tend to look better with shorter skirts and plaid skirts (think the typical "schoolgirl" look). Knee highs do tend to get pretty warm in the spring and summer (I used to wear them in elementary school and hated them, even in the winter, because they were so warm.)
Look and see if you can find some thinner leggings for the spring and summer - they have some made out of "stretch cotton" that feel pretty nice.
In order to clear some of your scars, try some vitamin E oil, which helps minimize the appearance.

I think they look good with skirts and shorts, depending on the look.

For example, I like how they look on the girl on the right here:

’Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe;
All mimsy were the borogoves,
And the [mome raths] outgrabe.

I like them with jean shorts, dresses, and miniskirts. You can get some really colorful ones.
