do I look like a hood?

ok, this is going to sound really stupid, but my mother has told me several times now that I look like a hood, and while it doesn't really bother me, I'm just curious if other people think I look like a hood.

I would post a photo, but I don't have one, so just a short description:

I usually wear black converse, blue jeans, a t-shirt (usually plain white, though sometimes I wear a band t-shirt or a button-up shirt) with a black leather jacket, a pair of wayfarers and shortish, semi-neat hair.

So, from that description, do I look like a hood?

But it shouldn't really matter whether you look like one or not, if you're comfortable in what you wear then just carry on wearing it regardless of what anyone says

I'm not really sure what a hood is either to be honest but I think it's really important to try and forget about the stereotypes and just wear what you feel comfortable in and what makes you feel good in.

I actually think that sounds quite cool My mum used to tell me I looked like a groupie for a rock band (back when I was 15/16) I didn't care as I liked the way I dressed

Maybe it's the leather jacket and the sunglasses your mother is talking about. I think any way you coordinate your clothing is better than wearing ill-fitting jeans and t-shirts.

I think hood is more, 2 pairs of pants and a telephone company shirts that are given out for free, maybe a hat your older brother handed down too you.

As I said with hood, mum uses it as the old slang for hoodlum, meaning a thug or ruffian, a member of a street gang. She usually means like greasers from the 50s/60s

With the white t shirt, leather jacket, jeans, sunglasses all together I can see how it would look like you are going to a fancy dress party as a T Bird.
How do you have your hair? If it is slicked back or side parted then I think that would make you look more T Bird like.

I don't see anything wrong with it really though. I love that era and the style of it, men cared about how they looked and took pride in their appearance. That's not a bad thing. If it is how to like to dress then go for it.

I don't have it styled, just fairly short, and combed once in the morning, otherwise just blown around by wind
