Decent skinnys? - March 10th 2009, 06:13 PM

I've been wearing the same pair of skinnys for ages now and my brother decided to kick a puddle and now my jeans are soaked and probably need washing but if I wash them they'll most likely shrink and I won't be able to wear them again.

So, where can I get myself a pair of decent skinnys? I'm looking for a gray/black/dark blue colour pair not the bright pink/blue/white ones that some people were or Blue Banana ones because they aren't the best.

If you dont mind second hand, then you could try ebay. Cheaper than any high street store.

I always like the dorothy perkins jeans. I find them to be a really good fit, and they are affordable, too. Most of their jeans are in a "2 for 25" or "2 for 15 pounds" deal.

I've bought, and loved every pair of skinnies from H&M, I find them good as you can choose a waist and length size, instead of being confined to 10/12/14 whatever sizes

I just bought a pair of grey skinnies from H&M. It's probably your best bet. Think of Madonna.

H&M is amazing.
But if you're looking for really comfortable skinnies, try American Eagle. Tilly's has them in all the colors of the rainbow and more too.

H&M has not too expensive, skinny skinnies. I like my old stock Levi's skinnies and a pair of Jbrand skinnies I found at a consignment store. The JBrands are amazing fit (very flattering, slimming.. nice) but they retail for an ungodly price and you'd be better off finding those on ebay or resale.

Also, if wash your skinnies but then air dry them, they won't shrink that much. Yours may still be salvageable.. and honestly, you should be washing your pants because it's not hygenic not to.

Re: Decent skinnys? - March 14th 2009, 09:26 AM

I always love skinnys from TopShop or MissSelfridge, they have some great styles and colours (Topshop is better for the range). But obviously they cost quite a bit .. I only have a couple of pairs cos they're like £40 each!
My best and longest lasting skinnies actually came from a charity shop. Someone had worn them like twice, and got bored. And they were lovely and cheap because they were second hand. Try charity shops!
Always try and buy ones that go on a normal wash (like 40 degrees) that way they don't shrink / misshape as easily / quickly in the wash ...

I get my skinnies at Primark because they're cheap and they fit okay. They get baggy after about a year, but replacing them's not a huge deal because they're only about £8. Bargain.

H&M, Topshop, lipsy, asos.com..

They're the ones that i've found the best to be honest. You may also have some luck in TK.MAXX but it depends on what they've got in at the time and how hard it is for you to find jeans that fit well.

I wouldn't suggest going to anywhere like primark because from my experience, even though it's cheap, you do get what you pay for, and the quality isn't good at all.

Also, if you wash them on a cool wash, they shouldn't shrink too noticeably?

I can never find jeans that fit me perfectly. I only ever wear skinny jeans, and I can never find them quite skinny enough.

Soho's are pretty awesome (places like Asfflecks Palace have a Soho's store, but type in 'Soho's jeans' into a search engine to get the Soho website!) I got a pair of skinnies from there and they have them in all sorts of colours. The pair I got were made by 'Criminal Damage' and they were black ^^

Also, the ones in Marks and Spencers are usually nice And comfy too!

I've had the same pair of black skinnys for like 4-5 years now. (I don't wear them that much so they're still going.)

andd I got them from Miss Selfridge (one next to TopShop in London)
You're better off just going to a high street and going from shop to shop until you find ones you like for the best price.

Thanks. I went into H&M and they had some good ones, other then that I can't seem to find places with them so I'll check Miss Selfridges.

Why dont you try second hand shops, they always have skinny jeans for cheap there. I brought a pair of miss selfridge trousers, for £6.50.

Jane Norman do really nice ones, although the clothes there are cut really skinny, so you may go up one or two sizes.

Re: Decent skinnys? - April 5th 2009, 02:32 PM

I just bought another designer pair for like, 1/8th of the cost at the local consignment shop. they had tags on it and everything. For some reason, the women in the area I live in are.. nuts. That consignment store almost always has Jbrands, rock and republics, acne.. etc (and they price them really generously, too)

I figure it's better to buy a consigned designer than a cheap mass produced jean because there's hope that the designer ones are made better and will last longer, but if not, they cost about the same anyway so no money lost.

I've always been really really dissapointed by topshop skinny jeans, like the black ones go grey within about 2 washes and thast with detergent made for black clothes and washing them inside out.....

I don't buy jeans in the uk cos i dont find they fit, so i have no experience what they fit like but uni glo has loooooads of colours and shapes and stuff so you might wanna check that out???
